I bought this Kitchenaid 7 speed mixer to replace a cheap hand mixer I had. I was looking for a mixer that had power plus a slow starting speed. I found both in this mixer. I did wish the top speed was faster. Overall I was satisfied with this mixer. A little less than four years though and the mixer quit. We determined it was the digital electronics and not the motor. The motor would still click but not turn on. I had problems with the digital controls for the last several months before it quit. I was disappointed that an expensive mixer like this would not last longer. I will not buy another Kitchenaid hand mixer again.

Was looking for appliances and accessories for my new kitchen and wanted red - probably didn't need this much power, but works really well and looks adorable (if that matters to you). Very, very pleased with this buy!

The Kitchen Aid KHM7T 7 speed hand mixer is a little more pricey [although very reasonable] and is PERFECT for almost all of your hand beater mxing needs. I used it for thick cookie dough, straight through to stiff egg whites and of course mashed potatoes! Lightweight, easy to handle, reasonable cost and the handbook on mixing speeds is very accurate and helpful, even for a seasoned baker!

I ordered this mixer to replace an old GE (when I say old, I mean about 25 years old). I selected it because it had seven speeds and the option to add bread hooks (which I also purchased). The mixer was a total disappointment. The top speed on this mixer is not as fast or as powerful as my 25 year old GE mixer. At its highest speed it had trouble with a banana bread dough, it would never be able to handle bread dough.
I cleaned it and packed it up and returned it to Amazon.
